Why shift teams use 24-hour time
Written as four digits, a time can only mean one thing. A shift logged as 07:00 can never be mistaken for 7:00 PM, which matters when a post change, a route handoff, or a site visit is written down once and read by someone else hours later. Overnight shifts also stay readable: 22:00 to 06:00 reads as a single block instead of "10 PM to 6 AM the next day".
That is why 24-hour time is the default on guard post orders, cleaning route sheets, driver logs, and dispatch boards. Timesheets, GPS clock-in records, and payroll exports all line up when everyone writes the hour the same way.

Frequently asked questions
What is military time?
A 24-hour clock system running from 00:00 to 23:59 with no AM/PM. Standard for scheduling in security, cleaning, trucking, and other shift-based industries.
How do I convert military time to standard?
For 00:00–12:59 the hour stays the same (00:00 = 12:00 AM). For 13:00–23:59, subtract 12 from the hour and add PM — 14:30 becomes 2:30 PM.
What is 1800 in military time?
1800 (18:00) is 6:00 PM.
Is midnight 0000 or 2400?
The start of a day is written 00:00. Some schedules write 24:00 to mark the end of the previous day, but 00:00 is the safer choice on a timesheet.
How do you say military time out loud?
Read the digits: 07:00 is "zero seven hundred", 14:30 is "fourteen thirty", 23:00 is "twenty-three hundred".
